MANILA, Philippines — Some parts of the country will still experience cloudy skies and some rain shower on Saturday due to the prevailing northeast monsoon and easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Friday.

“Northeast monsoon continues to prevail in the extreme northern Luzon, so expect that Batanes and Babuyan Islands will experience cloudy skies and rains,” Dominguez said in a mix of Filipino and English.

Dominguez also explained that the reason why most parts of the country are experiencing hot weather is because there is still no surge of northeast monsoon, or “amihan” and it still has not reached most areas.

Further, Dominguez noted that the sheer line, or the crossing of the northeast monsoon and easterlies or the wind coming from the Pacific Ocean, is possible to occur tomorrow.
